REGIONAL CAREER EXPLORATION COLLABORATIVE

Ensuring healthcare career exploration is a possibility for every student in Greater Cincinnati

Regional healthcare career exploration

Born out of the Ohio Industry Sector Partnership Grant, the Regional Career Exploration Collaborative (RCEC) is tasked with building and operating more quality healthcare career exploration programs for middle and high school students in the Cincinnati region.

Enabling equitable access for ALL students

The Regional Career Exploration Collaborative works to ensure that students of all socio-economic backgrounds, including those from low-income areas and under-represented populations, know about and have access to exploring careers in healthcare.

Our work complements The Health Collaborative’s efforts to increase the size, diversity, and preparedness of Cincinnati’s healthcare talent pipeline, and meet the growing demand for healthcare workforce in our region

Career exploration micro-grant

The Regional Career Exploration Collaborative (RCEC) is tasked with building and operating quality healthcare career exploration programs for middle and high school students in the Cincinnati region.

This micro-grant is intended to provide funding for partners to create new programs, or enhance existing ones. Preference will be given to applications serving students typically underrepresented in healthcare, and/or from rural communities.

Improving career exploration opportunities

RCEC Career Exploration Guide

In April, the Regional Career Exploration Collaborative compiled and sent a comprehensive Healthcare Career Exploration Opportunities Guide to more than 340 school teachers, counselors and administrators to share with their students.

The guide includes dates, deadlines, costs and more for career exploration opportunities in Southwest Ohio.

The Regional Career Exploration Collaborative consists of more than 20 stakeholders invested in healthcare workforce development. Members include healthcare employers, education and community-based organizations, and The Health Collaborative’s Workforce Innovation team.

TAP Health is The Health Collaborative’s signature careers pipeline initiative for high school students. Our mission is to build the next generation of healthcare professionals by aligning the best young talent with education opportunities and experiences at health systems and healthcare organizations.

The core of TAP Health programming consists of TAP MD; TAP RN; and TAP HC – programs which respectively guide students through the ins & outs of seeking a career as a physician, registered nurse, or any career within the broad spectrum of healthcare.
